Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage is a treatment that has evolved from traditional techniques that have been practised in India as part of a family ritual for thousands of years. It is believed that Indian Head massage promotes balance of the body, mind and spirit. What is involved?Although the techniques are only applied to the upper body (shoulders, upper arms, neck and head) collectively they represent a de-stressing programme for the whole body. Why is it so popular? There is no need to undress; it is quick and effective in terms of results; and it may be performed anywhere, due to its portable nature. What are the benefits?Relaxes head, neck and shoulders; increases blood flow to head, neck and shoulders; stimulates the release of endorphins from the brain (happy hormones); increases supply of oxygen to brain; soothes tense eye muscles; improves circulation and nutrition to skin and hair, and many more. What can I expect from a treatment?Following a 15 minute consultation you will be asked to sit on a comfortable chair and relax. The therapist will then work on the shoulder and neck area first. We will then move onto the head/scalp area, and finish with the face. Oils can be used upon request - this can be discussed during consultation. You will be supported by the therapist throughout the treatment using pillows and arm support. How much does it cost?£20 for an Indian Head Massage Treatment (30 mins) Before any first treatment can take place a full assessment is completed, this would usually take around 15 minutes. |
